Image analysis I
Short description of the contents
This module deals with the major steps from image acquisition to segmentation post-processing and hence is the basis for the model based image analysis. In the chapter image acquisition you will learn about several illumination models, spatial and radiometric resolution and the properties of different spectral channels. Since the original images often are not suitable for object extraction, pre-processing (e.g. image enhancement and restoration) is essential. Several techniques for the extraction of points, lines and regions are introduced in the chapter segmentation. Here you will get numerous examples for the different approaches and you will get an idea, why post-processing is still necessary.
